Wisconsin Department of Health Services Secretary Linda Seemeyer recently paid a visit to Rusk County Memorial Hospital (RCMH) on October 27, 2017. Seemeyer asked to come to the hospital and discuss the unique hospitalist program that has been developed at RCMH. During her visit, she toured the facility and Jeff Euclide, BSN, MBA, NEA-BC, Chief Executive Officer of Rusk County Memorial Hospital gave an overview of the successful program.
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) Hospital Medicine Program implemented by RCMH was launched in 2014 and utilizes advanced practice nurse practitioners (APNPs) with specialized training to exclusively care for hospital inpatients in the medical, surgical, intensive care, swing bed and observation programs. RCMH hospitalists coordinate with teams of hospital professionals to provide exceptional and consistent care around the clock without requiring primary care providers to be on call outside of clinic hours.
