On Wednesday, May 31, ladies of our community gathered at Colonial Nursery for the Ladies Thyme Garden Party. The evening began with hors d’oeuvres and desserts provided by JS Supper Club and an opportunity to look around the greenhouse and visit the sponsor booths by Artisans and Rusk County Memorial Hospital & Clinic at Riverside. The Artisans booth featured jewelry and purses for guests to purchase, while the RCMH booth offered an opportunity for community members to meet Clinic at Riverside providers, Dr. Michele Armstrong and nurse practitioner Nicky Crick.
At 6:00 pm, three-time USA Olympian Debbie Sullivan shared her passion for gardening, nutrition, exercise and positivity helped her succeed in living the dream. Sullivan was a track and cross country runner in high school and college before switching to walking in 1981. She walked the world’s fastest 1500 meter in 5 minutes and 54 seconds. She is an 11-time national walking champion and has set (and broken) many American Walk Records along the way. Attendees enjoyed listening to Sullivan tell her story and share the unique and fun ways she stays fit and lives her dreams.
Colonial Nursey donated 10% of all sales throughout the evening to the Women with Courage Foundation. This event was sponsored by Rusk County Memorial Hospital & Clinic at Riverside, JS Supper Club, Artisans Boutiquelet and Colonial Nursery.
