Rusk County Memorial Hospital (RCMH) is excited to announce the launch of their new Electronic Health Record (EHR), Epic. Rusk County Memorial Hospital has contracted with HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire and HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chippewa Falls to implement this cutting-edge EHR system on February 25, 2017.
Epic is a fully-integrated, top-of-the-line healthcare software system that supports all aspects of patient care, from registration and scheduling to clinical systems (for doctors, nurses, pharmacists, lab technologists, radiologists, etc.) to billing. Providers and healthcare facilities across the region will also be able to access to these medical records when needed for patient care through the secure Epic Carelink system.
It will allow providers to have immediate access to up-to-date information about a patient from anywhere in the network, improving the efficiency and effectiveness of care. Whether it’s a stay in the hospital, a trip to the emergency room or a follow-up with your primary care provider, this move to a new EHR will assist in painting a more complete picture to help you and your doctors manage your overall care.
Patients will also benefit from this transition through the Epic MyChart patient portal. This tool provides online access anywhere at anytime to your personal health records. The new MyChart patient portal allows patients to view their medical records online in a safe, secure environment, update their personal information, request prescription refills, request appointments and create proxy accounts for children or dependent adults. The new MyChart portal will be available at RuskHospital.org after February 25, 2017.
This is an exciting time of change and improvement! RCMH would like to thank patients, in advance, for their patience as their physicians and colleagues adjust to their new processes and adapt to this new EHR platform.
