Rusk County Memorial Hospital has been named one of America’s Best Hospitals for Patient Experience by the Women’s Choice Award. The award signifies that Rusk County Memorial Hospital’s Emergency Department has been ranked within the top 6% of over 3,900 hospitals for timely and effective care. “This award is extra special to us because in addition to meeting the strictest level of healthcare criteria, we had to earn it from our community. In fact, only the hospitals that achieve a high level of satisfaction from their patients, are eligible to earn the award and we are so proud of that accomplishment,” states Jeff Euclide, RN, Chief Executive Office of Rusk County Memorial Hospital.
The methodology used to select Rusk County Memorial Hospital as one of America’s Best Hospitals for Emergency Department’s timely and effective care utilizes the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) survey results along with primary research about women’s healthcare preferences. Euclide continues, “Women make over 80% of healthcare decisions and this award assists them in being confident that they know which emergency departments in their communities will take care of their loved ones quickly and with the best possible care.”
The Women’s Choice Award collects the data for the following HCAHPS survey measures and uses a weighted average to award the best hospitals for emergency department care:
