What to Bring to the Hospital
Mom
- Nightgown/robe/slippers (RCMH provides gowns and robes during your stay)
- Toothbrush/toothpaste
- Soap or body wash
- Shampoo/Conditioner
- Hairbrush/comb, hair dryer, curling iron, hair accessories
- Hand and Body lotion
- Deodorant
- Makeup
- Lip balm or chap stick
- Nursing Bra if you will be breastfeeding
- Loose fitting clothes to wear home
Miscellaneous items
- Your favorite pillow or blanket
- Snacks for between meals
- A journal
- Book
- Camera and/or Camcorder with batteries
- A list of telephone numbers for family and friends.
- A pre paid phone card for convenient long-distance calling. (Cell phones cannot be used inside the hospital.)
- Insurance card
For Dad or Labor Partner
- Toothbrush and toothpaste
- Hairbrush or comb
- Razor
- Snacks for during labor such as fruit or granola bars
Baby
- Clothes including a special outfit for pictures and going home
- Baby blankets
- Infant cap
Infant Car Seat
You will need a rear facing car seat that is securely fastened in the back seat of your vehicle. Make sure you have a car seat that is appropriate for infants and meets current safety requirements.
