Marshfield Medical Center - Ladysmith offers cardiac & cardiopulmonary rehab programs that use education and exercise to improve your quality of life and reduce your risk of future cardiac events.

CARDIAC REHAB

Our skilled team provides individualized care for those who have experienced a heart attack, valve replacement, angioplasty, coronary artery bypass surgery (CABG) or angina. Sessions are available by physician referral.

PULMONARY REHAB

About the Program

The Cardiopulmonary department offers high quality outpatient services such as Pulmonary Rehab, state of the art Pulmonary Function Testing and various cardiac monitoring for those with lung, heart and peripheral artery diseases.  Additional services such as non-invasive ventilation and aerosol therapies are also provided by the Respiratory Therapist during inpatient visits.  Here at Marshfield Medical Center – Ladysmith, our department’s goal is to provide high quality care to our outpatient and inpatient community and beyond.  Through education, exercise, support and motivations; we strive to give you a greater sense of well-being and give you the necessary tools and knowledge to improve your life in any way we can.

Pulmonary rehab is a program of supervised exercise, education and support to help you learn to breathe and function at the highest level possible. The program is designed for patients with conditions such as:

  • COPD
  • Emphysema
  • Asthma
  • Chronic bronchitis
  • Lung cancer

Workouts

Workout sessions are available on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the Cardiac Rehab Department. Our Respiratory Therapist will work with you to develop a monitored exercise program best suited to meet your individual needs and goals.

Education

Patients will also be provided with weekly education topics such as smoking cessation, respiratory medication usage, energy preservation and breathing techniques, and oxygen equipment usage.
