Ultrasound of the Chest
Purpose: An Ultrasound of the Chest produces images of the organs and other structures located within the chest cavity.
Preparation: An Ultrasound of the Chest does not require any advance preparation. A Registered Ultrasound Technician will explain the procedure and answer any questions you have.
What to Expect: You will be asked to lie on your back on the ultrasound table. A warm gel is applied to the area being studied. The ultrasound technician will move the transducer back and forth over the area being studied as images are captured.
Post Exam Information: Your images will be reviewed by a Radiologist and the results of your exam will be forwarded to your physician. Your physician will be able to discuss the results of your exam with you.
