The Stroke Support Club of Rusk County Memorial Hospital and Nursing Home was formed to provide information and support in a friendly and caring setting to persons who have experienced stroke and their families.

Who Should Attend?
- Persons with Strokes, Brain Tumors, or Surgical Brain Injury.
- Family and spouses of persons who have experienced stroke.
- Friends of persons who have experienced stroke.
- Professionals within the surrounding communities.
- Anyone interested in learning more about strokes and their affects.
Club Activities Include:
- Socialization
- Opportunities for support and disclosure
- Discuss and practice compensatory strategies
- Guest speakers
- Fun Activities - Structured to enhance speech/language skills
- Access to community resources

Group Goals:
- Provide members with strategies for adjusting/adapting to their deficits
- Provide support to family and friends
- Educate members on prevention
- Improve community awareness
- Ideas for disclosure to family, friends, and/or workplace
- Discuss transition back to work or social events
- Allow opportunities for personal sharing
- Assist people in networking with others within their community.

The Stroke Support Club welcomes visitors. In fact, we encourage visitors to check us out! This applies not only to stroke members and their families, but to other professionals within our surrounding communities. We know the best way to determine if our club is right for you is to meet our staff and club members. We appreciate your input and recommendations. Help us to make this "your" group too.
